Where the Bad Times trend came from

The sound is a deep-house song released in March 2026. The dance started in August 2026, with a creator lip-syncing and arguing with the camera. A second kitchen take in September became the take AI versions copy, and an AI dog version in a bright kitchen followed in late September. The hashtag passed 200M views by mid-October.

The look: you argue straight at the camera — hands clutching your head, a hand on your hip, stop-palms, finger-pointing, a lean-in lecture, a shout, a dismissive flick, and a cold stare. The sound here is an original deep-house-style instrumental with no vocals. It does not include the song or the sound from the original reel.

How to make it in 3 steps

  1. 1. Upload your photo

One photo for Human or Pet, or two separate photos for Couple. For Couple, the first photo is the front person who argues, and the second is the partner behind.

  2. 2. Choose Human, Pet, or Couple

Human argues in your own room or kitchen. Pet stands upright in a bright kitchen and runs the routine with paws. Couple keeps the front person arguing while the partner watches, then ends in a hug and laughter.

  3. 3. Generate · 2 credits

Credits are charged when you generate. Wan 3.0 (wan3.0-video) makes a 12s, 720p clip with original music and no vocals. Resolution is always sent as 720P.

What it looks like

Human: you face the camera in your own room or kitchen, kept from your photo, waist-up to full body. Your face, clothes, and hands stay exactly as in your photo while you run the routine: hands clutching your head, a hand on your hip, stop-palms, finger-pointing, and a lean-in lecture.

Pet: your pet stands upright on its hind legs in a bright kitchen, species, breed, and fur locked to your photo. The front paws do the same routine — clutching the head, a paw on the hip, stop-paws, and a pointing paw.

Couple: the front person argues while the partner watches from behind with folded arms. At the end the partner steps forward, the two hug, and both laugh.

The video is one continuous take, in rhythm, ending on a cold, still stare — except the couple version, which ends in the hug. The sound is an original punchy deep-house-style instrumental only, with no vocals, no lyrics, and no recognisable song.

Which photo works best

Use a sharp photo facing the camera, in good light, with the face clear. Your clothes are kept exactly, and the room or kitchen is kept for the human version. For a pet, use a sharp photo that shows the whole pet, head to paws.

For a couple, upload two separate photos — not one photo of both people together. The first photo is the front person who argues, the second is the partner behind. Use your own photos only, no celebrities.

Prompts

Also on the prompts page. The Human pair is the default; Pet and Couple swap in their own prompts.

Human · Internal first-frame prompt

Use the uploaded photo as the base. Keep the person's face, body shape, skin tone, hair, hands, outfit, colors, fabrics, and accessories exactly the same as in the photo. Do not blend the person with anyone else, do not swap clothes, and do not turn the person into a celebrity lookalike. Show the person waist-up to full body in their own room or kitchen, kept from the photo, facing the camera mid-argument: one hand clutching the side of the head, the other hand planted on the hip, mouth open as if caught mid-sentence, eyes fixed on the lens. Warm indoor light, everyday objects kept in place, photorealistic, not CGI. Vertical 9:16. Exactly one adult person, no text, no logos.

Human · Video · 12s

A single continuous take with no cuts, shot from one fixed camera position. Keep the person's face, body, outfit, and room exactly as in the still image, with identity locked to the still throughout. The person performs the argument routine beat by beat: both hands clutch the head, then one hand goes to the hip, then both palms push toward the lens in a stop gesture, then a finger points sharply at the camera, then the person leans in close to lecture the lens, then shouts with the mouth wide open, then flicks a hand dismissively, and finally holds a cold, still stare into the camera. Movements stay sharp, theatrical, and in rhythm, and the person never leaves the frame. Audio: an original punchy deep-house-style instrumental only, with no vocals, no lyrics, and no recognisable song. No text, no logos.

Pet · Internal first-frame prompt

Use the uploaded photo as the base. Keep the pet's species, breed, face, coat color and markings, fur texture, body shape, and size exactly the same as in the photo. Do not blend the pet with another animal and do not turn it into a cartoon or a celebrity pet lookalike. Show the pet standing upright on its hind legs in a bright kitchen, front paws raised in a mid-argument pose, one paw near the side of the head and the other paw on its hip, facing the camera with its mouth slightly open, as if caught mid-sentence. Keep the kitchen bright, clean, and ordinary, with daylight from a window. Photorealistic, not CGI. Vertical 9:16. Exactly one pet, no text, no logos.

Pet · Video · 12s

A single continuous take with no cuts, shot from one fixed camera position. Keep the pet's species, breed, face, coat, body, and kitchen exactly as in the still image, with identity locked to the still throughout. The pet performs the argument routine beat by beat, standing upright on its hind legs: both front paws clutch the sides of the head, then one paw goes to the hip, then both paws push toward the lens in a stop gesture, then one paw points sharply at the camera, then the pet leans in close toward the lens, then opens its mouth wide as if shouting, then flicks a paw dismissively, and finally holds a cold, still stare into the camera. Movements stay sharp, theatrical, and in rhythm, and the pet never leaves the frame. Audio: an original punchy deep-house-style instrumental only, with no vocals, no lyrics, and no recognisable song. No text, no logos.

Couple · Internal first-frame prompt

Use the two uploaded photos as the base. The first photo is the person in front, the second photo is the partner standing behind. Keep each person's face, body shape, skin tone, hair, hands, outfit, colors, fabrics, and accessories exactly the same as in their own photo. Do not blend the two people, do not swap their clothes, and do not turn either person into a celebrity lookalike. Show the front person waist-up, facing the camera mid-argument with one hand clutching the side of the head and the other hand on the hip, mouth open as if caught mid-sentence. Show the partner behind, shoulders visible, watching with folded arms and a half-amused expression. Keep the room or kitchen from the front person's photo, warm indoor light, photorealistic, not CGI. Vertical 9:16. Exactly two adult people, no text, no logos.

FAQ

Does it include the song?

No. The sound is an original punchy deep-house-style instrumental only, with no vocals and no lyrics. It does not include the Bad Times song or the sound from the original reel, and no specific track is promised.

How do people make the Bad Times AI video?

Upload one photo for Human or Pet, or two photos for Couple. Click Generate to spend 2 credits and start the 12 second 720p video with original music. The first frame is prepared during generation.

What is the argument routine?

Hands clutch the head, one hand goes to the hip, both palms push at the lens in a stop gesture, a finger points at the camera, the person leans in to lecture the lens, shouts, flicks a hand dismissively, and holds a cold stare. The pet version runs the same beats with paws, and the couple version ends in a hug and laughter.

Where do I get the prompt?

You do not need to write one. The page uses fixed prompts for the internal first frame and the video. You can read the Human, Pet, and Couple prompts in the Prompts section below or on the prompts page.

Is it a real video of a real argument?

No. Every clip is newly generated AI video from your photos. Label the result as AI where a platform asks.

What photo works best?

Use a sharp photo facing the camera, in good light, with the face clear. Your clothes stay as they are in the photo, and the room or kitchen is kept for the human version. For a couple, upload two separate photos: the first is the front person who argues, the second is the partner behind.

Can I make a couple version?

Yes. Choose Couple and upload two separate photos: the first photo is the front person who argues, the second photo is the partner standing behind. The front person runs the routine, the partner watches, and the video ends with a hug and laughter.
