Upload one cat photo, approve a free watermarked preview, then spend 1 credit on a 10 second 720p video with clap sound.

You can make a [clapping cat AI](/clapping-cat-ai) video from one photo. The path is a free watermarked still, then 1 credit for a 10 second 720p clip with clap sound. You do not write a prompt. This is the order the generator actually uses, written so you can follow it on a phone without guessing which button comes next.

The meme is Black Cat Clapping. Credit [@merkurianin](https://www.instagram.com/merkurianin/) (Aleksandr Kim). [Know Your Meme](https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/black-cat-clapping) says he posted the clip on 25 September 2026. The entry is dated 5 October 2026. A video from this site is newly generated. It is not his reel. Knight Cat AI is not affiliated with him. The sourced timeline is the [clapping cat trend origin](/trends/clapping-cat).

## Before you open the page

Take one photo of one cat. The whole body should be in frame, from ears to hind feet. Daylight, or a bright room. Shoot from above, the way you look down at the cat. Sharp, not a blurry crop. Exactly one animal. No people in the frame, including hands at the edge.

A face-only close-up makes the still guess the legs. A dark photo makes it guess the coat. A photo with two cats makes it guess which one to keep. If you can retake the photo, do that before you spend a still.

Good enough usually means: standing or sitting where you can see the full outline, eyes open, fur readable, floor visible around the feet. You do not need a studio. You need a clear phone photo.

Dogs use the same steps. That case is [can you make a dog clap like the clapping cat meme?](/blog/can-you-make-a-dog-clap).

## 1. Open the generator and sign in

Go to [clapping cat AI](/clapping-cat-ai). The upload sits at the top of the page. Sign in before you create the still. The free stills are tied to the account: 2 watermarked stills per UTC day.

Tick the box. It says you are 18 or older, the photo is one pet you can use, it has no people, and it is not a celebrity’s pet. The button stays off until that box is ticked.

## 2. Upload the photo

Drop the photo on the box, or click to choose a file. JPG, PNG, or WEBP. The label on this template is one pet photo, whole body. One animal, no people.

You are not picking a style grid. Clapping Cat is locked on this page. You are not picking 480p or 1080p. This template is 720p. That keeps the product simple: one photo, one still, one credit for the video.

## 3. Create the free watermarked still

Press “Create free watermarked still.” The still usually takes 30 to 50 seconds. You can leave the page. The account email is used when the still is ready.

The still model is Google Nano Banana. It is supposed to keep the cat’s species, breed, face, coat, and the room, then stand the cat up with a wide human smile and exactly two small human hands, mid-clap. The tested wording is in [the clapping cat prompt](/blog/clapping-cat-prompt). You do not paste it yourself.

The preview is watermarked. That is the free version. It is not a free MP4. If someone promises a free finished clap video on this site, that is not how the product works.

## 4. Check the still before you pay

Approve it only if you would post it. Four misses are common:

- The front paws stayed paws. Regenerate. The prompt replaces them with two small human hands.
- An extra hand or an extra paw appeared. Regenerate. The prompt asks for exactly one animal and exactly two hands.
- The grin is small, or the teeth are missing. Regenerate. It should be a wide human smile with a full row of straight white teeth.
- The still is blurry, or the body is cut off. Use a sharper photo: whole body, daylight, one animal, shot from above.

Also glance at identity. If your orange tabby became a generic black cat, regenerate or retake the photo. The still is supposed to keep markings and eye color.

A failed still does not use a video credit. Regenerating spends another still from the daily 2, not a video credit. If the photo is the problem, fix the photo instead of burning both stills on the same crop.

## 5. Spend 1 credit on the video

When the still looks right, start the video. You are charged only after you approve the still. The video is 10 seconds, vertical 9:16, 720p, with clap sound. The model is Alibaba Wan 3.0. A video usually takes 2 to 3 minutes. The email goes out again when it is done.

The picture is supposed to be one continuous phone shot: the cat already standing, about five or six slow claps, hands opening between claps, then a short hold. The audio is loud hand claps in a quiet room. No music, no voice, no meow. That is the prompt, not a guarantee of a frame-accurate edit.

Packs are one-time: $5.99 for 1 credit, $12.99 for 3, and $29.99 for 10. This video costs 1 credit, so the single pack is $5.99 for one video. Credits do not expire. There is no subscription.

All purchases are final and non-refundable. If the paid video fails, or is still running after 10 minutes, the 1 credit is returned automatically. A finished video is not refunded. For a billing error such as a duplicate charge, email support@knightcatai.com.

## 6. Download it, then label it

Download the MP4. The upload, the still, and the video are deleted from storage 30 days after the job is created.

When you post, label the clip as AI where a platform or a law asks. Credit the meme to @merkurianin. Personal posts are fine on those terms. For a paid campaign, ask the creator. Caption ideas on the generator page include “me watching that happen” and “the slow clap it deserved,” with the tags #clappingcat, #blackcatclapping, #catclapping, #clappingcatmeme, and #dogclapping.

## Troubleshooting without rewriting the prompt

Most bad outputs are photo problems, not missing adjectives.

If the hands look wrong, start over from a sharper whole-body photo before you edit prompt text. If the room drifts, check that the source photo shows a clear floor and background. If the motion looks morphy, regenerate the video from the same still once; if it fails again, regenerate the still. Do not stack unpaid experiments on a face crop.

If you are comparing other public tools, prices and photo counts checked in October 2026 are in [best clapping cat generators compared](/blog/clapping-cat-ai-tools-compared). Some of those pages ask for two photos, or for you and the pet. This one does not.

## Second-by-second expectations

The landing page lists the beats the video prompt asks for: open on the upright pet, about five or six slow claps with hands opening between them, then a short hold, with crisp hand-clap audio and no music. Treat that as direction for the model, not as a storyboard you can scrub frame by frame. If a render skips a clap or softens a hand, regenerate rather than editing the MP4 by hand for a first post.

## What you are not doing

You are not uploading a person beside the cat. You are not buying a copy of the original Instagram clip. You are not writing your own prompt unless you want to read the one the tool already sends. You are not picking knight armor on this template. Armor is a different meme on the [knight cat trend](/trends/knight-cat).

You are also not getting a free finished MP4 on the free step. The free step is the watermarked still. The paid step is the 10 second video. That split is intentional so you can reject a bad still before a credit moves.

Open [clapping cat AI](/clapping-cat-ai), upload the photo, approve the watermarked still, and spend the credit only after the still looks like your cat.
